Ailsa Riddell Enterprise Officer, Northumbria University
"Charlotte and Alice facilitated our recent two-day Enterprise Experience Weekend event and delivered a series of workshops covering networking, confidence and pitching. They provided knowledgeable information on start-up in the region and prepared our students for embarking on their entrepreneurial journeys. They are experts in capturing audience attention, engaging everyone in the room and creating energy and buzz with interactive ice breakers. A build in confidence is always a key theme that comes through in our feedback questionnaires; this demonstrates the impact Charlotte and Alice have on our event and the students themselves. They are an integral part of our Enterprise Weekend team and continue to help make our event one which is valued and highly recommended by our students and graduates."
Joanne Pearson Student Support Lead, Norham High School
“When it comes to careers education, guidance support and delivery there are a wealth of companies out there on the market that offer the support and guidance to do it right! From my initial meeting with 'FIRST Face to Face' and my continued work with them I have been inspired, as have the students, by the unique and engaging way the company has worked."
Pam Robertson Director of Learning Development, TyneMet College
“We were very happy to support FIRST Face to Face – it’s projects like this that make starting up a business a reality rather than a distant dream for many local people. The SOUP Fusion event was a great fit for us to ensure budding entrepreneurs could grasp the chance to access financial support for their business ideas.”
Cissie Tsang Enterprise Officer, Northumbria University
“I have worked with FIRST Face to Face on several student events over the last few years. The enthusiasm and energy Charlotte brings is essential to the success of our events. FIRST can engage students on topics that are essential for their professional development including networking skills, ideas generation and presentation skills.”
Steve Dougan Head of Graduate Enterprise, Teesside University
"At the heart of Teesside University are our amazing students, many of whom have businesses or business ideas. Our STARTUP Sprint programme, really helps them to explore this and the team at FIRST deliver amazing workshops that really enthuse and inspire them all. I am also a supporter of the If We Can You Can Challenge, a platform that allows entrepreneurs to get their business recognised by the North East business community, and I look forward to attending the events throughout 2018."
"A great project, an opportunity to work with the students in a different way and a great informative way of looking at job opportunities for future generations."

“Your presentation was engaging and informative and the students and the staff involved thoroughly enjoyed themselves...Workshops like yours have such an impact when delivered by non-teaching staff and this was shown in the students’ work and conversations I overheard throughout the week. The skills demonstrated by the students during these events are the lessons we hope to teach our students and the time spent in these workshops has allowed them to see beyond their textbooks and internet searches and actually apply some of their skills in a real world context.”
Head of Sixth Form College
“It has been delightful to see our young people be inspired and enthused, generating ideas and having the confidence to pitch in front of an audience”
Sixth Form Tutor
“The workshop boosted their creativity and imagination. Created confidence and comfort in pitching together, allowing them to open up, have fun, laugh and created a little competitive spirit. They also felt that it allowed them to be spontaneous”
Sixth Form Teacher
"I personally felt that the workshop was a really great way of introducing the 'real scenario' of setting up a business. The students were supported to think about the processes involved throughout every step, right from the very beginning, and therefore took more ownership of their products and designs. They learned to work together in small groups and were supported to persevere as they knew that they were expected to present their product to an audience at the end of the project. This meant that they had to take everything seriously as this was a 'real world' situation, they weren't just making something for themselves."
