The Chronicle & Journal is encouraging us all to #Invest in the North East to make the region a better place to live and work and here at FIRST we’re doing exactly that!
The FIRST team were represented at the High Sheriff of North Tyneside’s leaving extravaganza, along with an array of other amazing businesses in the community.
At the end of March we hosted the spectacular final of INDUSTRY SPARK – a partnership with North Tyneside Learning Trust in which the region’s talented young people solved real world industry challenges.
And that’s not all, further up the enterprise and entrepreneurship chain the If We Can You Can Challenge that we deliver in partnership with The Entrepreneurs’ Forum has got off to a cracking start. Although not yet open for entries, we already have support from three well known regional entrepreneurs (heading the award categories) and powerful backing from Sage, Brewin Dolphin, Mincoffs, BQ North East, PNE Group, O Communications, 49Digital and Get Film.
Click here to watch the video and find out why they are all involved! We’re now working hard to secure business partners in the Tees Valley – to get the message across that this is a truly regional competition open to all 0-3 year old businesses with growth potential.
All five universities are already involved and on the 28th April we’re hosting an event at Durham University to improve students’ networking skills and start establishing the all- important regional business connections they’ll need to secure build their careers (or start businesses in our great region).
And finally because we want our region to be a great place to live, work and bring up a family we’re fully supportive of the Emmanuel College vs St Bede’s Lanchester Debate on the blessings or curse of 100 year life – the expected life-span of today’s millennials. The future is in the hands of our young people: will it be a blessing or a curse.
